Today we read in verse 4 that everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world! But what does it mean to be “born of God?”
It means you trust Him with your whole life, and you decide to live for Him in everything that you do, that you believe that Jesus was His Son and that Jesus died so you didn’t have to. You ask God to be your leader every day, and you ask Him to live in your heart too.
God wants everyone to be overcomers of the world - to be able to say no to sin or darkness and to say yes to the light - but only you get to make that decision for yourself. Prayer: God, I believe that Jesus was Your Son, and I believe that He died for the things I have done wrong. Please come live inside my heart so that I can be an overcomer too. Amen!
