Read Matthew 16

Head

Have you ever lost something important? I am forever losing my keys! I keep looking and looking until I finally find them. Why? Because they are important! I don’t stop looking for them just because it’s hard. Jesus tells us a story in Matthew that teaches us just how important we are to God! In Matthew 18, Jesus tells a story about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. When one sheep wanders away, the shepherd leaves the 99 to go find the one that is lost. When he finds it, he is very happy. Verse 14 tells us that, “Your Father in heaven does not want any of these little children to be lost.” Jesus tells this story to show us what God is like. God cares so much about every person that He never gives up on anyone, not even one!

Heart

God sees us and loves us. We are never forgotten by God. Sometimes we make wrong choices or feel far away from Him. Other times, we might feel lonely or unseen. But God sees us and loves us deeply. Just like the shepherd goes after the lost sheep, God comes looking for us because we matter so much to Him.

Hands

We can trust God when we feel lost or scared. We can pray and ask Him to help us find our way back when we make mistakes. We can also look out for others who may feel left out or alone. When we are kind and include others, we act like the good shepherd and show God’s love. Every person matters to God, and that includes you!

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for loving me and never giving up on me. Help me to be kind like You. I want my life to show your love every day. In Jesus name, Amen.
