Head

Can you remember a time when you wanted to ask your teacher a question? You raised your hand and waited and waited, but other kids kept getting to ask their questions before you. The teacher finally called on you and listened! It probably felt really good to know you were heard and that you matter. Matthew 19 shows people bringing children to Jesus so He can pray for them. Some of the disciples think Jesus is too busy and try to send the children away. But Jesus stops them and says, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people who are like these children.” Jesus shows everyone that children are important and loved by God.

Heart

Jesus wants us to know that He cares deeply about children. He is never too busy for them, and He wants them close to Him. He shows us that His heart is loving, gentle, and kind. Jesus wants a relationship with us just as we are. How do you think the children felt after Jesus stopped what He was doing to talk to them and listen to them?

Hands

We can come to Jesus anytime through prayer, no matter how we feel. We can trust Him with the good and with the bad. We can also help our friends, classmates, or teammates feel welcome, just like Jesus did. When we include others and are kind, we show them the love of Jesus.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for loving me and welcoming me just as I am. Help me trust You and know that You care about everything in my life. In Jesus name, Amen.
