When partnering with your family to know, love, and follow Jesus, we strive to create and share content filtered by the Head-Heart-Hands model.

Head: the knowledge of God and His Word | Heart: the personal connection from scripture | Hands: a missional mindset

HEAD

Today, we will begin the Book of Hebrews in Chapter 1. Verses 1-4 begin by explaining who Jesus is and what He has done. These verses explain that God has spoken to us through Jesus. Jesus is the Creator and Heir to all things, He sustains all things, and then He saved us from our sins and sat down at the right hand of the Majesty of Heaven. As you will find out in the Bible Reading Plan over the next couple of weeks, the Book of Hebrews is all about how Jesus is greater than all the heroes of the faith. He is greater than anything. Greater than Moses, greater than Joshua, greater than any priest, and as you will read in Chapter 1 today, greater than the angels. Angels serve many important roles throughout the Bible, but none more important than the role of Jesus! Because Jesus is greater than anyone else and anything else, we should remain faithful to Him. His greatness is not only relevant in Hebrews, and not only relevant today, but His greatness and majesty will last forever and ever! Jesus is above all things, and He remains forever!

HEART

What is your biggest fear? Your heaviest burden? I am here to tell you, that your fears and worries may be big, but Jesus is bigger! Put Jesus first in your life, give your worries and fears to Jesus, and allow Him to show you how big He is!

HANDS

Take a few minutes today to go outside and look around at God’s creation. Notice the warmth of the sunshine, the clouds in the sky, the breeze on your skin, the birds flying, and the grass beneath your feet. Reflect on our reading from today and really think about how great our Heavenly Father is!

Prayer: God, You are mighty and big and wonderful and amazing. I love You so much. I pray there is an opportunity for me to tell someone how wonderful and mighty You are. Amen.
