Head: Know God’s Word | Heart: Love God | Hands: Follow God’s Way
Read Matthew 21
Head
Close your eyes and pretend you are king for a day. How would you enter your school or your neighborhood? Would you have a parade, fireworks, or a shiny crown? When I think of a king’s arrival, I imagine something super extravagant! But not Jesus! He didn’t come to show off. He humbly came into town riding on a donkey. That’s right, Jesus enters Jerusalem on a DONKEY, just like the Bible said the King would do. Matthew 21:9 says, “Praise to the Son of David!” The people wave palm branches and shout praises to Him because they believe He is sent by God. Jesus teaches that God cares about genuine, real faith, and that being His follower means more than cheering; it means listening to Him and obeying Him.
Heart
How do we welcome Jesus into our lives? It’s easy to say we love Jesus, especially at church or with friends. But Jesus wants us to follow Him even when it’s hard. He wants our love, trust, and obedience. When we truly follow Jesus, it shows in how we act, speak, and treat others. Jesus is not just our Savior, He is our King!
Hands
We can show Jesus is our King by listening to Him and obeying His teachings. That means being kind, telling the truth, forgiving others, and doing what’s right, even when no one is watching. John 14:15 tells us, “If you love me, you will do the things I command.” Every day, we can ask Jesus, " How can I follow You today? Every small choice to obey is a way to honor Jesus as King.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank You for coming as our King and Savior. Teach me to follow You with my whole heart and obey Your Word. I love You and praise You! In Jesus name, Amen.
